Fareham Dojo History

Fareham dojo was started in Nov 2001 as a friendship dojo with Southampton by myself, Tony O'Brien , 3rd Dan and my friend and training partner from Southampton dojo, Sensei Alistar, 3rd Dan.

I wanted to start a dojo because I felt it was part of the progression of training and philosophy of Shorinji Kempo to start in a new area and allow people to experience the beneficial self-defence and training methods of Shorinji Kempo.

I sometimes look back to when I started 12 years ago and think what if a dojo was never started in Southampton! What sort of training, if any, would I or anyone else be doing!

So by introducing Shorinji Kempo to Fareham it will help to progress the art for others.
